Dr. Ashley Jo George accepts a limited number of commissions each year. A commission is a conversation, about a subject, a space, a size, and what it means for something to be made specifically for you.
A commissioned piece begins with a subject you bring. It ends with something that cannot exist for anyone else.
Every commission is original. The reverse glass gilding process means the work cannot be reproduced — not as a print, not as a copy, not in any other medium. Once it is made, it exists once.
Commissions are available for a wide range of topics, if you know what you are looking for, contact us and we can start the conversation. These pieces are meant to last multiple lifetimes, making them the perfect family heirloom.
Availability is limited by the nature of the work.
Reverse glass gilding is slow. A single piece may take weeks from start to finish, with drying time between layers that cannot be shortened. Ashley takes a small number of commissions at a time so that each one receives the attention it requires.
If you have a piece in mind, reach out early. Commission inquiries are taken on a first-contact basis, and availability windows fill. The earlier you inquire, the more time there is to get it right.

Ashley will respond to discuss the piece in more detail — dimensions, subject specifics, timeline, and pricing. This is where the commission takes shape.

Agreement & Deposit
Once details are confirmed, a deposit secures your place in the commission queue. Work begins when the queue reaches your piece.

Creation
Ashley gilts, burnishes, and paints your piece by hand. The process is slow by design. You will be updated as the work progresses.

Delivery
The finished, framed piece is photographed and shipped with care. Insurance is included. The remaining balance is due upon completion.

It’s Yours
The piece arrives. It belongs to you — a single original that cannot be reproduced, reprinted, or replicated. It is the only one that will ever exist.

Timeline
6-16 Weeks
Timelines vary by size and complexity. Oil paint drying time between layers is the primary variable. Rush timelines are not available, the work takes as long as it takes.

Ashley accepts a small number of commissions at a time. Current availability is shared during the inquiry process. Early inquiry is always recommended.
Pricing
Priced per Piece
Pricing depends on size, subject complexity, and materials. All commissions are quoted individually. There is no standard price list, each piece is singular.

Insured Worldwide
Commissions ship worldwide. Each piece is custom-packed for safe transit. Full insurance is included. Shipping costs are discussed as part of the commission agreement.
